I’m thinking a lot about conscious intention, communication, and commitments. What are you using your white space to ponder? 🤔
Here are this week’s insights from my conversations with CEOs around the country:
- Don’t leave success to chance. Engineer the customer experience as much as possible. And, where there are gaps, make sure your people are clear on expected outcomes and values. This helps create the mortar to cure the gaps when you’re not there.
- Sometimes you’ll lose deals. Make sure you’re “The intelligent #2.” When the first choice falters, expect a call. I’ve won a ton of business being in the second chair. Play the infinite game.
- I measure success in senior leaders by the number of minutes you get back in your day. Lots of ways to steal minutes back: more effective meetings, more clarity so less “brain borrowing”, better training, better tools…what else? Steal those minutes!
- There are millions of ways to solve a problem. The most important part is to choose an approach, communicate and align the company to execute.
- Hiring the “good enough” person always ends in a train wreck. Stop hiring out of pain. Stay patient to find the “10s.” They won’t steal your time and borrow your brain because they’ll FSO (Figure Shit Out!). 🥇
