Had a mind-bending conversation yesterday about AI’s disruption.
A hypothesis floated that there would be 25% unemployment in five years. I found that idea super fascinating. Made it hard to sleep last night.
Just in my fifty years on earth, check out these seismic inflection points:
💻 Personal Computers
🛜 The Internet
💰 E-commerce
🌎 Globalization (Today my meeting locations: Vietnam, Santorini, Denver, Dallas, Chicago, Charlotte, New Jersey, and LA 🤯)
📱Mobile Phones
🤝 Social Media
🧬 DNA Sequencing
🚀 Space Exploration
Tech drives innovation and requires humans to adapt. Thank you, Charles Darwin. It’s why I LOVE tech as a game-changer and unfair advantage in business. Consider:
🧮 Accountants used to calculate every entry manually.
📸 Photographers used to develop film in darkrooms.
🏛️ Architects used to draft blueprints by hand.
✍️ Writers used to handwrite manuscripts.
🩺 Doctors used to diagnose using only their hands and stethoscopes.
Lessons from the music industry who fought against digital music? The music industry has never been bigger in creators, accessibility, and money.
I don’t know what the future holds. Maybe it will include 25% unemployment. But I do know one thing:
You’re not going back…
The mind-blowing part is trying to get my mind to live in the future. What new, currently inaccessible industries will emerge with additional time and computing power?
Made Me Think: Are you leading the change…or are you fighting it?
Please embrace AI as if your business life depends on it.
Let me know if I can help you along the way. 🙏
