I finished a trip to Denver this week to complete a strategic plan with Pine Financial. A total win with amazing leaders. I can’t think of better time spent than intentionally time planning your business and creating alignment across your organization. You should try it sometime!
Here’s what I’m thinking about and learning this week:
- “You can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy.”
Nightbirde, dying of cancer, on America’s Got Talent - The only ones who will remember you worked late are your kids.
- Matt Foxhall reminded me, “Mediocre results are due to chronic inconsistencies.” He’s right.
- Movement does not mean progress. Sit and think about that idea.
- I can manage disappointment. I can’t manage misinformation or no information.
- If you want to build world-class organizations, get your people to be honest, authentic, vulnerable, and talking.
- I hate “Me Too” businesses. They are ripe for displacement and are in the predictable death spiral headed to 0% margins.
- I can only get behind a “Me Too” business if the market grows so quickly that you’re not directly competing for existing market share. New clients enter the market daily for you to serve, making you viable. Otherwise, quit.
Have a great week!
