Go For Epic…
“Hey, Dad. Will you do it again?”
“Absolutely.”
“Really?!?!”
Brooklyn questioned me after my epic snowboarding fail (three years ago). I disfigured my shoulder pretty good when it broke. 🤢 (Text me if you wanna see it 😂)
Here’s the point: my skills don’t match my ambition.
And, that’s perfectly ok.
I’ve spent my career being overmatched…until I wasn’t.
I’m currently not good on snow. I recognize that fact. But my family loves snowboarding. And I love spending time with my family. So, I’ll continue to stretch myself. But now I’ll try skiing. ⛷️🤣
I’ve had to learn to love to fail. I don’t like to fail, but I love trying new things that are currently beyond my reach. It’s the only path to progress.
Sometimes, that ambition has consequences.
I still wouldn’t have it any other way.
I can’t imagine standing on the sidelines of my life, afraid to fail.
A craftsman’s mentality is the only path to get you from where you are to where you want to be…
Made Me Think: When’s the last time you’ve actively sought something beyond your current grasp? Go for epic. You are worth it, and time is evaporating…
