I’m fat, so I joined a gym. No, really. I did join a gym. 💪
Two lessons:
It feels great to be working out again, and once again, I feel stupid that I didn’t do it sooner. It is a neglected core value.
The thing that was holding me back was my schedule. So, I changed a lot of appointments to create space for this priority. My calls start at 10, so I can always have space to work out, no matter the family schedule.
💡 Made Me Think: If you want to make the priority your priority, you must schedule it.
❓ What “priorities” do you have that you aren’t executing on because it isn’t on the calendar?
Lesson 2: I’m amazed at the diversity of people at the gym. There are super-fit athletes. There’s also an 81-year-old man who sits on a reverse bike and “pedals” the machine with his hands. It’s painfully slow to watch, but he’s there working out. Super impressive. 💪
💡 Made Me Think: Do what you can, where you are, with what you have.
❓ Where is a lack of mindset holding you back from making progress? You are good enough.
• Day 1 at work. 🤔
Do you know how important Day 1 is for a new employee? Critical. Sets the tone and expectations for everything else. Are you buttoned up?
✅ Email address setup.
✅ Workspace ready.
✅ Computer pre-loaded.
✅ Employee key card issued.
✅ Training scheduled.
✅ Lunch with the ELT.
💡Made Me Think: What are the new employees thinking in your company? What are your people saying to their partner | best friend | parents | after Day 1 at your place?
My goal for you: An intentional Day 1 experience that blows them away so they say, “Holy crap! I’m so lucky to work for this company with these amazing people! I’m so inspired.”
Set the standard. 🏆
