My brother gave me the best advice I’ve ever gotten. We shared a room growing up. He had been kicked out of college because he liked to party more than study. He looked me in the eye at 4:55 am as he was walking out of our room for the final time to be picked up for boot camp.
“Learn from my mistakes. I made them for you.”
Thirty-plus years later and it’s still the most sage advice I’ve ever received. I don’t have to get my teeth bashed in to learn. Just pay attention and learn from those who have experienced it already.
